Wyant Scott Boreson, 35, of Tuscaloosa, AL, formerly of Kentland, IN, passed away unexpectedly in Tuscaloosa.

He was born August 19, 1982 in Rensselaer, IN to James E. Boreson and Paula Hale Boreson. Wyant was a 2001 graduate of South Newton High School. He also received his Bachelors in Recreational Sports from Indiana University and his Masters in Sports Management from the University of Alabama. Wyant has lived the past 6 years in Tuscaloosa.

Wyant was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland. He enjoyed spending his time camping, fishing, and anything outdoors. In high school, Wyant received his varsity letter in both football and track, and was also a manager for the basketball team.

After earning his Masters degree, Wyant was employed by the University of Alabama as Coordinator of Sports Clubs.

Wyant is survived by his daughter, Lisa Nichole Boreson (mother: Rita Boreson) of Tuscaloosa; father, Jim (Donna Poynor) Boreson of Osceola, AR and mother, Paula Hale Boreson (Bob Watts) of Kentland; siblings, Nichole (Jason) Risley of Royal, IL, Addison D. Boreson of Great Lakes Naval Training Center; nieces, Lauren and Katelyn Risley and nephew, Jacob Risley all of Royal, IL. Wyant is also survived by grandparents, David and Darlene Truby of Kentland.

Friends may call from 4-8 PM (CST) Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland. Funeral Mass 11 AM (CST) Wednesday, February 7, 2018 also at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Robert Bertonas to officiate. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery.
