Dorothy “Jane” Blunt, 97, of Lafayette, Formerly of Wolcott, passed away at 2:05 AM, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Digby House of Lafayette.

She was born October 21, 1919 in Boswell to the late Robert and Pearl E. (Dyer) Karp. She was a 1937 graduate of Boswell High School. Jane recently attended Boswell High School annual alumni banquet where she was an honored guest celebrating her 80th anniversary of graduating from Boswell.

Her marriage was to Ivan Lee Blunt on March 24, 1960 at Boswell United Methodist Church. Ivan preceded her in death on April 29, 2013.

Jane lived in the Boswell area until moving to Wolcott in the 70’s. She was a past member of the Boswell United Methodist Church and attended Meadow Lake Presbyterian Church after her move to Wolcott. She was also a 75 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 158 of Boswell, which later merged with the Otterbein Chapter.

Jane retired as a bank teller after 43 years at Farmers & Merchants Bank of Boswell. She enjoyed spending her time gardening, attending church functions, and spending time with family and friends.

Jane is survived by her nieces and nephews, Ann Kroegher of Lafayette, Scott Kroegher of Lafayette, Jane Kroegher of Lafayette, and John Kroegher of Indianapolis. Also surviving are 6 great nieces and nephews, 2 great-great nieces, and several cousins.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband is a sister, Margaret Rauer, and infant brother, Bobby Karp.

Friends may call from 12 PM (EST) until the time of Funeral Service 2 PM (EST) Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Meadow Lake Presbyterian Church of Wolcott. Pastor Anella McFee to officiate. Interment to follow in Meadow Lake Cemetery.
