Desmia Earline Vogel, age 84, passed away at her home in Chalmers, Indiana on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Earline was born September 22, 1932 in Memphis, TX to Izetta Davis and Thomas Pullen. She graduated from Lockhart High School, Lockhart TX. While employed at Gary AFB, San Marcos, TX she met and married Lt. Daniel J. Vogel and spent the next 47 years of their marriage moving around the United States and Okinawa, Japan as an Air Force spouse.

She spent many years working as a Civil Servant and legal secretary while fulfilling the roles of wife and mother. Once she and her husband Dan Vogel retired, they traveled the country visiting friends and family in their RV. She settled in northern IN where she lived with her daughter Lisa and Tim Clark.

She was a reader, a writer, an artist; and she inspired us all.

Earline is survived by her children, Danette and Terry Kellner, Woodstock GA; Kevin and Mary Vogel, Rapid City, SD; Michael and Jacinta Vogel, Pensacola, FL; Lisa and Tim Clark, Chalmers, IN; Laura and Norman Lantrip, Monroe, OH.

 

She was blessed with Grandchildren – Jennifer (David) McCollum; Dane (Carrie) Clark; Sarah (Aubrey) Bailey; Ross (Ashley) Clark; Michael Vogel; Benjamin Vogel; Abby Clark; Josh Vogel; Kevin Lantrip; Chelsea (Tyler) Musser; Tyler Vogel; Noah Lantrip; Alex Vogel; Timothy Lantrip; Kyle Vogel; Jacqueline Lantrip and 12 Great-Grandchildren – Asher, Tinsley and Renner; Brenley and Addy; Luke, Liam and Lane; Harper and Hadley; and Peyton and Hailey.

She is also survived by Brother-in-Law Mike Vogel; Sisters-in-law Phyllis Wolfe; MaryAnne Vogel; Mary Canter; Stephanie Vogel and Jane Meyer.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years LtCol Daniel J Vogel (2002) and son Andrew Vogel (2012).

Memorials may be made in her name to the Southern Care Hospice; 935 Mezzanine Dr., Ste. B., Lafayette IN 47905.

 

Friends may call Saturday, June 10, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church (216 Scheller Avenue, Sellersburg, IN) from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral mass at 12 p.m. (Noon); Fr. Tom Clegg to officiate. Interment to follow in Sellersburg Cemetery.
