Sherrillyn Putts, 76, of Remington, passed away at 5:50 AM, Monday, March 20, 2017 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital of Lafayette. Sherry fought the good fight battling cancer for years. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.

She was born May 7, 1940 in Goodland, IN to the late Bill and Jean (Cochrane) Best.

Sherry worked for several years as a bookkeeper for Lane Poultry, she also worked as an EMT at Remington Ambulance Service.

She loved spending time with her family and friends. Sherry loved her Sassy and all of her grand-dogs.

She is survived by her children, Ken (Christine) Pangle of Brookston, and Karla (Scott) Wood of Battle Ground. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lance, Haylie, Austin, Jenna, Marissa, Brett, Dylan, and Shane; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Ryder, Kutler, Jason, and Aubrianna; brothers, Bruce (Mary Ann) Best of Remington and Ed (Galena) Best of Florida.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jean (Cochrane) Best.

Friends may call from 9:30 AM (EST) until the time of Funeral Service 11 AM (EST) Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington. Pastor Jeff Smith of Remington United Methodist Church to officiate. Interment to follow in Goodland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sherrillyn’s name to the Lafayette Almost Home Humane Society for her love of all animals.
