LaVonne Montgomery, 74, of West Lafayette, passed away at 12:42 PM, Thursday, March 9, 2017 at IU Health Arnett Hospital of Lafayette.

She was born February 8, 1943 in Adair County, KY to the late Dorothy (Peg) Thomas.

Her marriage was to John A. Montgomery in Las Vegas, NV in 1977. He preceded her in death in October of 1985.

LaVonne worked for many years at the Indiana Veterans Home of West Lafayette. She enjoyed spending her time watching TV and reading. In her younger years, LaVonne enjoyed shopping, swimming, and being outdoors.

Surviving is a daughter, Denise Montgomery of West Lafayette; step-sons, Darrell and Mark Montgomery; daughter in law, Dainah Montgomery Sebek. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jada Lynn Montgomery, Sarah Ann Spell, and Brittney Stansberry; great-grandchildren, Jackson Spell, Joseph Cash Spell, and Steven Spell.

Preceding her in death along with her mother is a son, Steven Thomas Montgomery.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM (EST) Friday, March 17, 2017 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
