Leo F. Lanie, 95, of Fowler, formerly of Earl Park, passed away at 10:45 AM, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Green Hill Manor of Fowler, IN.

He was born June 5, 1921 in Remington, IN to the late Clarence and Mary (Weist) Lanie. Leo was a lifelong resident of Benton County.

His marriage was to Annabelle Deno on February 16, 1944 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Fowler. She survives.

Leo was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland. He was a contractor and professional fence builder. Leo enjoyed spending his time gardening, hunting, and attending auctions.

Surviving along with his wife, are children, Ann (Robert) Hardebeck of West Lafayette, Karen Robinson of Lady Lake, FL, Leon (Kathy) Lanie of West Lafayette, Linda (William) Weise of West Lafayette, Donald Lanie of Fowler, and Colleen (Richard) Spivey of Chapel Hill, TN. Leo is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death along with his parents are two sisters, one brother, and a son, Ronald Lanie.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations made be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in Leo’s name.
