Jack Irby, 66, of Monon, passed away at 12:30 PM, November 17, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born August 17, 1950 in Hammond, IN to the late Donald L. Irby and Edith (Reid) Irby. He attended Hammond Tech High School. Jack proudly served in the United States Air Force, he was honorably discharged on May 8, 1973.

His marriage was to Patricia Oldenberg on May 15, 2001 in Las Vegas, NV. She survives.

Jack was employed at Indiana Harbor Belt working on the railroad as a switchman and conductor, he retired after 38 years. He loved spending his time taking road trips, fishing, model RC planes, using his metal detector, watching NASCAR, and playing computer games.

Surviving along with his wife are daughters, Jennifer (Andy) Terborg of Wheatfield, IN and Beth (John) Stevens of Walkerton, IN; a brother, Donald Irby of Portage, IN; grandsons, Mark Irby, Shaon Wright, Colton Wright, and Joshua Westfall; granddaughter, Samantha Westfall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Edith Irby.

A Patriot Guard Ceremony will be held at AMVETS Riders Post 91 (219 Northwestern Ave, Monticello, IN 47960) Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 12 PM Noon (EST).
