Michael J. May, 71, of Remington, passed away at 12:53 AM, August 30, 2016 at Franciscan St. Anthony Health of Crown Point, IN. He was born May 12, 1945 in Remington, IN to the late Mark and Laura (Baker) May. He was a 1963 graduate of Remington High School.

Michael served in the in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. His marriage was to Helen "Jean" Akers on December 21, 1968 in Clifton, IL. She survives. Michael attended Remington United Methodist Church.

Michael loved being with family, friends, and spending time outdoors with his horses. He also had his private pilot license and enjoyed flying when he could.

Surviving along with his wife is their daughter, Tracy May of St. Paul, Minnesota and granddaughter, Mackenzie Bain. He is also survived by a sister, Sue Allison of Remington.

He is preceded in death by a brother, George May.

Friends may call from 10 AM (EST) until the time of Memorial Service 11 AM (EST) Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Remington United Methodist Church. Pastor Jeff Smith to officiate. Inurnment to follow in Remington Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Michael's name to the Remington United Methodist Church or to the family for a good cause at a later date.
