Harold R. Smith, Jr., age 62, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2016.  He is survived by his loving family:  his wife, Kim of Wolcott; son, Harold, III and wife Jessica of Lafayette, grandsons Eric and Oliver; and son, Benjamin of Wolcott.

He is also survived by 2 sisters:  Linda and her husband Jerry Gage of Colwich, KS, nieces Robin Phillips of Wichita, KS, Ranee Charles of Luther, MI; and sister Claudia and her husband Joel Orton of Clinton, NJ.

Harold was born and raised in Lincoln, KS, the son of the late Harold R. Smith and Freda L. (nee Archer).  He has been a resident of Wolcott for the past 20 years.

Harold loved his family and his many friends.  He valued family gatherings and enjoyed playing golf with his very close buddies.  He always had a joke to share, a prank to play, or a humorous take on popular topics.  He enjoyed good music, great stories, tasty food, and good times.  He was a loyal Kansas Jayhawk.  Harold was known for his friendliness, kindness, and incredible wit.  He will be missed by his family and friends.

Per Harold’s wishes, cremation will be private and a memorial will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate in Harold’s memory to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
