Mary Beth (Schwab) Flickner, 61, of Frankfort, KY, passed away at 1:55 PM, April 22, 2016 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center of Frankfort, KY.

She was born December 13, 1954 in Emporia, KS to Vernon and Arlene (Knapp) Schwab. Mary was a 1973 graduate of Benton Central High School. She also graduated from Purdue University with an Associates Degree and from University of Phoenix with a Bachelors Degree in Business in 2008.  

 

Her marriage was to Charles R. Flickner on October 30, 2004 in Bloomington, IL. He survives. Mary and Charlie were members at South East Christian Church in Louisville, KY.

 

Mary was a supervisor for the Medicaid Department for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She enjoyed spending her time cooking, sewing, gardening, Bible studies, decorating, and spending time with the grandkids. Most of all Mary was always giving a helping hand wherever she could with her contagious smile. Mary was the hands and feet of Jesus full of compassion, slow to anger, and abundantly wise to those she encountered.

 

Surviving along with her parents and husband are children, Ryan (Jennifer) Basham of Plainfield, IN, Jessica (Darin) Basham Leman of Bloomington, IL, Brooke (Tony) Basham Escobar of Chicago, IL; step-children, Sarah (Eddie) Houlihan of Chicago, IL, Nathan (Jasmine) Flickner of South Bend, IN, Lena (John) Makay also of South Bend, IN; siblings, Yvonne (Nate) Lehman of Aurora, CO, John (Wendy) Schwab of Remington, IN, Tim (Rachel) Schwab of Remington, IN, Mark (Shari) Schwab of Goodland, IN, Suzanne (Nick) Gutwein of West Lafayette, IN, and Becky (Randy) Gudeman of Francesville, IN.

 

Also surviving are grandchildren, Ashylnn Hunley, Duncan Hunley, Brooklynn Basham, Beau Ryan Basham; Ethan, William, Micah, Hannah, and Haven Leman; Evangeline, Cruz, and Luca Escobar; step-grandchildren, Makaila, and Hunter Flickner; Keenan and Camron Houlihan; Harper and Marek Makay.

 

Friends may call from 11 AM (EST) until the time of funeral service at 1 PM (EST), Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the A.C.C Fellowship Hall (16448 South US Highway 231, Remington, IN 47951). Tony Escobar to officiate.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mary B. Flickner Memorial Angel Fund.
