Emma May Rector, 88, of Monticello, formerly of Wolcott, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Mary's Healthcare in Lafayette, IN.

She was born on October 23, 1927 in Jasper County to the late Harry Franklin and Nellie Adaline (Dignan) Heath. She attended Wolcott High School.

Her marriage of 56 years was to Harold "Doc" Rector on August 6, 1943 in Monticello, IN. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2000.

Mrs. Rector was a member of the Monticello Christian Church and former member of the Wolcott Christian Church. She is a past member of the Wolcott Lions Club, Home Economics Club and the Rebekah Lodge.

Emma worked for Bryan's Manufacturing for nine years then went on to work for Indiana Ribbon for 37 years, where she retired. After retiring she worked at Dwyers part-time.

She enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband. She loved spending time with her family and especially loved her grandkids. She enjoyed her bible studies with her ladies group at Fisher apartments.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Kay (Don) Hancock, Marsha Sue (Joe) Whitaker, Juliann (Lou) Cain and a brother, Ed Anker (wife: Norma). Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death with her parents and husband is a daughter, Charma Lu Rector, a grandchild, Erik Wade Hancock, two sisters, Janet Rector and Helen Mills and three brothers, Harold, Charles and Harry Heath.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2016 at Monticello Christian Church (1002 South Airport Road, Monticello) and also from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016; Pastor Chris Dodson to officiate. Interment to follow in Wolcott Cemetery.
