She was born October 13, 1933 in Naomi, KY to the late Earlen and Elva (Dalton) Merrick. She attended high school in Kentucky.  

Her marriage was to Jerry Miller on October 3, 1953 in Kentland at the First Christian Church. He survives.

Erdene was a member of the Covenant Federated Church of Kentland for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping, and her flowers. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

Surviving along with her husband Jerry, are daughters, Cherie Carlson of Kentland, and Jacqueline (Doug) Bailey of Kentland; grandchildren, Candice (Rick) Ramon of Kentland, Melissa (Mathieu) Chamberlain of Lafayette, and Jennifer (Jeff) Holmes of Thornton, CO; step-grandchildren, Josh (Ashley) Bailey of Lafayette, and Samantha (Scott) O’Connor of Brookston. Also surviving are siblings, Earnest (Hazel) Merrick of Winter Haven, FL, Gladys Hickman of East Peoria, IL, and Earl (Cathy) Merrick of Kokomo, IN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earlen and Elva Merrick.

Friends may call from 4-7 PM (CST) Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland. Funeral service at 11:00 AM (CST) Monday, January 11, 2016 at Covenant Federated Church ( 612 North 6th St. Kentland, IN). Rev. Wayne R. Meyer to officiate. Interment to follow in Fairlawn Cemetery of Kentland.
