Robert H. Altman, 78, of Wolcott, went to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. Bob was born on May 24, 1937 in Seafield, IN, the son of the late Frank and Mildred (Stinson) Altman. He was a 1955 graduate of Wolcott High School. His marriage was to Loretta Justice on December 2, 1956 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Wolcott. Bob retired from farming and building houses before working in the Agronomy Department at Purdue University for 16 years. Bob was a member of the Palestine Christian Church, where he served as elder and board member for many years. Bob enjoyed fishing, southern gospel concerts, and spending time with his family. Bob and Loretta wintered in St. Petersburg, FL for 10 years, where he was on the park board and served the community in many ways. Surviving with his wife are his children, Bob (Laura) of Crawfordsville, Deb of Wolcott and David (Dana) of Wolcott; three sisters, Mary Inez (Bill) Misch, Barbara Schultz of Wolcott and Kathy of Los Altos Hills, CA; two brothers, Mike (Peg) Altman of Rensselaer and Sam Altman (who preceded him in death); nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 10-2 PM Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Palestine Christian Church, (7275 West 400 North, Wolcott; with funeral service following at 2 PM. Pastor Guy Brown to officiate.
