Rex A. Hendryx, 80 of Battle Ground died at 2:30 am, Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born October 18, 1934 in Brookston to the late Chester and Susie Valentine (Darnell) Hendryx. He was a 1952 graduate of Brookston High School and attended Purdue University for Agriculture and Real Estate. He also served in the National Guard for 6 years. On June 10, 1956 Rex married the love of his life Georgia Cramer in Reynolds. Rex and Georgia were married for 59 years. She survives. Rex was a family farmer and real estate broker. He was the owner of Rex Hendryx Real Estate from 1972 until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of the Federated Church of Brookston, a charter member and Past President of the Brookston Lions Club, Chairman of the Brookston Christmas Parade, Past President of the White County Ag Association, Coached Little League Baseball, was a member of the 1951 Brookston Bomber's "Sweet 16" Basketball team. He was also a member of the Brookston Horseshoe Club and numerous card clubs. Rex was an avid mushroom hunter and sports fan, especially of Purdue sports. He enjoyed playing bocce ball, hanging out at Hendryx Woods, and driving his International B. Tractor. He especially cherished his time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, family was very important to Rex. Along with his wife Georgia, he is survived by his 2 daughters, Julie (Jim) Blake of Brookston, Peggie Cudworth of Brookston; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad) Brown of Lafayette, Jill Blake (Jeff Koch) of Mooreland, Karlie (Luke) Mansfield of Battleground, Jay Blake of Chalmers, Kensie (Trevor) Benakovich of Brookston; 6 great grandchildren, Emily, Dylan, Elise Brown, Isaac and Kathryn Mansfield, Brooks Benakovich; a sister, Sue (Pat) Barrett of West Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Dona Mae Hansen and Edres Carter; and 3 brothers, JD Hendryx, Gordon Hendryx, and Carl Hendryx. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until time of memorial service at 7:00 pm, Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Federated Church in Brookston, 202 S Wood St, Brookston, IN 47923. Rev. Sarah Gengler and Rev.
