Russell L. Allison, 98, of West Lafayette, Indiana, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2015 at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette. He was born May 10, 1917 in Paris Illinois to the late Jacob B. and Josie (Decker) Allison. His first marriage was to S. Elizabeth Frodge Dill and she preceded him in 1958. His second marriage was to Vera Threlkeld of Crawfordsville in 1962 and she also preceded him in death 1971. He married Alice H. Ruckle in 1972 and she too preceded him in death on September 6, 2006. Mr. Allison worked for the late Alvin "Toad" Weaver on the farm for 20 years then Harrison Steel, Attica IN for 20 years and lastly, Wabash Center for 18 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Christ Church in Lafayette. Surviving are: son Russell E. Allison (Barbara), West Lafayette, and daughter Patricia "Patty" Fisher of Wabash; two step-sons, Donald Dill of Monticello and Benny Ruckle (Emily) of Borden, IN; two step-daughters, Deloris Irene Czech of Crown Point, and Gloria Long of Crawfordsville; a sister, Adah Selvio, Logansport, IN and a special friend Peter A. Limon. Also surviving are five granddaughters, April J. Swick (Jim), Teresa Ambutry (Dale), Sonya Suiter (Dan), Jessica Fisher and Erica Swick and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Preceding him in death with his parents and wives are two sisters, Marie Logston and Belva Cadwaller, two grandsons, two granddaughters, a great granddaughter and two step-sons. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2015 at Christ Church (3616 South 9th St. Lafayette) with Pastor Christopher Black and Bishop Thomas Branham to officiate. Private interment to follow. The family requests that those coming to pay their respects dress comfortable and casual. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wabash Center (2000 Greenbush Street, Lafayette, Indiana 47904) or Christ Church.
