Donald Deverle Linback, 72, of Remington, formerly of Wolcott died at 6:15 pm, Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Rensselaer Care Center in Rensselaer. He was born February 1, 1943 at home in Goodland to the late William Frank and Veda Cecil (Hall) Linback Sr. He attended Wolcott High School. He married the love of his life, Donna Gosman on September 1, 1963 in Monticello. Donna survives. Donald worked as a farmer, at RCA, and for 42 years as a Fireman in the boiler room and landscaper at St. Joseph College in Rensselaer. He enjoyed fishing, cookouts, and gardening. He even had a garden this past year and had the best tomatoes. Above all, Donald cherished his time spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Donna; 2 children, Patty (Tim) Murphy of Earl Park and Bryan Linback of Remington; grandchildren, Nick and Sonya, Marcus and Rachel, Candice and Eric, Emily, Elizabeth, Kelsey, Bryan II and Tasha, Justine and Tommy, and Dustin and Kate; great-grandchildren, Cora, Lena, Ella, Kendall, Bryan III, Paige, and Brody; sisters, Rose Plunkett, Lola Cobleigh, and Norma Ruffner; and a brother, James Linback. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Justin; 6 sisters; and 4 brothers. Visitattion will be from 11:00 am (EST) until time of service at 1:00 pm (EST), Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington with Rev. Randy Sparks officiating. Interment will follow at Remington Cemetery in Remington.
