Margaret Suiter( July 20, 1926 - February 13, 2015 )
Margaret (Burris) Suiter, 88, of rural Benton County passed into her heavenly home at 2:54 pm, February 13, 2015, at St. Anthony's Health Care in Lafayette. She was born on July 20, 1926, in Carroll County to the late Robert D. and Addie (Siferd) Burris. She graduated in 1946 from Adams Township School in Carroll County, near Lockport. During the war she worked at Logan Machine in Logansport. On May 2, 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert B. Suiter. Margaret was a homemaker and partner on their family farms, beginning in Cass County and then in 1957 in Benton County until Margaret and Bob's retirement. Farm life was a great way to raise their four children, teaching them strong values of responsibility and hard work. Margaret was a member of Raub United Methodist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher, Temperance Society Leader, and WSCS Leader until her health prevented participation. She loved cooking, gardening, flowers, and travel. She and her husband spent many wonderful vacations and winter seasons on fishing trips and exploring the Western and Southwestern U.S. and Alaska. The biggest joys of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her husband of nearly 69 years, Robert; daughters, Joyce (Michael) Lantz of Kokomo and Linda (Gregg) Sutter of Clarks Hills; son, Thomas (Patty) Suiter of Earl Park; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Suiter of Earl Park; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Burris of Lebanon, and sister, Lucille Zarse of Lafayette. Preceding her in death with her parents are a son, Robert B. Suiter, Jr., and a sister, Marilyn Lind. Friends may call from 10:00 am (CST) until time of service at 12:00 pm (CST), Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Raub United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Kosary officiating. Interment to follow at Earl Park Cemetery in Earl Park. Memorial donations in honor of Margaret's life may be given to the Raub United Methodist Church.
