Betty Sue Johnson, 58 of Elkhart died at her home on January 2, 2015. She was born on December 22, 1956 in Watseka, IL to the late Wayne Edward and Dovie Loraine (Davis) Glasgow. She was a 1974 graduate of Sheldon High School, Sheldon, IL. Her marriage was to Mark W. Johnson on March 20, 2004 in Portage, on a charter boat on Lake Michigan. He survives. Betty's previous marriage was to Dennis W. Dewing in 1978 and they have two children together. She was a past member of the American Legion Women's Auxillary in Sheldon, IL. Betty worked as a cook forever which included working at the Country Inn of Kentland and at Miller Senior Living in Wakarusa. She also was First Mate for Reel Crazy Charters. She really enjoyed being on the boat as well as hunting and fishing. She loved her dogs, Stryker, Babee, Coco Teal, and Sassy. She is survived by her husband, Mark W. Johnson; 2 children, Amanda (Duane) Bard of Iroquois, IL, Deric Dewing of Elkhart; 3 step-children, Nicole (Cormac) Connelly of Parkville, IL, Brandon Johnson of Lafayette, Keaton Mark Johnson of Lafayette; 5 grandchildren, Autumn, Jordan, Blake, Nathan, and Cillian; 2 sisters; 3 brothers; 4 sister-in-laws; 2 brother-in-laws; 1 step-sister in law; 1 step-brother in law. Along with her parents, she was proceeded in death by her grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Friends may call from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm (CST), Monday, January 12, 2015 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am (CST), Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Interment will follow at Goodland Cemetery, Goodland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Betty's name to the American Cancer Society.
