Hazel Irene Murfitt, 87, formally of Kentland, passed away at 10:30 p.m. October 7, 2014 at Chicago land Christian Village of Crown Point. She was born September 3, 1927 in Schneider, Indiana to the late Frank Bushman and Edna (Irene) Bushman. Her marriage was to Ray Murfitt. He preceded her in death in 1986. Hazel worked for Dormeyer Coil Factory of Kentland for several years. Surviving are two sons; David Murfitt (wife: Diane) of Kentland; Douglas Murfitt (wife: Debbie) of Porter, Indiana. A brother; Frank Bushman Jr.; a sister; Joyce Bushman. Also surviving are four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband are two brothers and three sisters. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. (CST) Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland; Rev. Ed vanWijk to officiate.
