Margaret Sue Odell

( June 18, 1948 - September 7, 2014 )

Margaret Sue Odell, 66 of Monticello died at 6:13 PM, September 7, 2014 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare. She was born on June 18, 1948 in Lafayette to the late James J. Odell and Merle L. (Kirkpatrick) Odell. Margaret was a lifelong resident of White County, growing up in Chalmers before moving to Monticello. Margaret was a member of the United Methodist Church in Monticello and a former member of the Federated Church of Brookston. She was also a member of CDC Resources in Monticello for the majority of her life. She loved to knit and prior to moving to Monticello Healthcare, she had a bedroom full of yarn and would start a blanket each time a niece or nephew was born. Start is the main word; although dedicated, Margaret never actually ever finished a blanket. She enjoyed the old television shows like "I Love Lucy" and "The Beverly Hillbillies", and music by Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. She was also a Purdue basketball fan. Above all, Margaret loved the Lord! She loved studying the Bible and encouraged her friends to attend church with her. She is survived by a brother Kirk Odell (wife: Gina); a sister, Alice Victor (husband: Roger); 4 nieces, 2 nephews, 9 great nieces, 3 great nephews, and 1 great great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, James J. and Merle L. Odell. Friends may call from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home in Brookston with Rev. Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Chalmers Cemetery in Chalmers. Memorial Contributions may be given in Margaret's name to CDC Resources Inc. The family would like to thank the staff of Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare for the exceptional care given to Margaret.
