Linda Louise Hicks, 56, of Brookston died at 10:50 a.m. August 13, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 13, 1958 in Lafayette to the late Max Flynn and Carol (Eisert) Flynn, who survives. She was a 1976 graduate of Frontier High School. Linda married the love of her life, James Hicks on May 10, 1986 at the Chalmers Community Church. She was a Brookston resident all of her life. A licensed phlebotomist, Linda worked for St. Elizabeth Health Care from 1990 until her retirement in 2014. She also worked at AcuStat in Lafayette. Linda enjoyed going to Blue Chip Casino and to Las Vegas and really enjoyed the time spent with her husband at the casinos. She loved playing card games with her friends and traveling with her husband and children. She is survived by her husband, James Hicks; mother, Carol Flynn of Chalmers; sons, James Anthony Hicks (wife: Stacey) of Thorntown, Bradley Scott Hicks (wife: Diane) of TN, and Kris Michael Lawson (wife: Nancy) of Noblesville; two brothers, Clifford Flynn (wife: Melinda) of Oklahoma, Carl Flynn (wife: Cheryl) of Wolcott, and a sister, LouAnn Flynn (partner: Dee West) of Brookston; 7 grandchildren, Laekin, Matt, Zack, Lluvia, Luna, Quentin, and Donovan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Max Flynn; and her brother, Don Flynn.
