Delia B. Gonzalez, 43, of Monticello, passed away at 11:50 am, Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at IU Health-White Memorial Hospital of Monticello. She was born on December 4, 1970 in Veracruz, Mexico to Miguel Gonzalez Hernandez and Margarita Galeana Herrera. Delia moved to the United States in 1996 where she lived in Monon, Crawfordsville, Lafayette, and Monticello. She had worked at I & S Furrer Farms in Wolcott, and most recently, at Jordan Manufacturing of Monticello. Delia enjoyed attending Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church of Monticello. She loved to cook, go shopping, and gardening, but most of all, she cherished her time spent with her children and grandson. They were the most important people in her life. Surviving with her mother, Margarita Galeana Herrera of Mexico, are her children, Perla Perez Gonzalez, Lizeth (Perez Gonzalez) Herr (husband: Mark), Marylin Perez Gonzalez, and Miguel Gonzalez, all of Monticello; and a grandson, Noah Herr. She is also survived by her siblings, Luis Gonzalez (wife: Delia Portal), Carlos Gonzalez, Ilse Gonzalez, Araceli Gonzalez, Marcos Gonzalez, and Efrain Gonzalez; as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death with her father, Miguel Gonzalez Hernandez, is a brother, Alvaro Gonzalez. Friends may call from 4-8 pm, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston.
