Nelson Gail White, 73, of Remington, died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1939 in Calhoun County, West Virginia to the late Earl and Ruby (Lowe) White. He attended school in West Virginia. His marriage was to Edna Jane Blount on January 7, 1966 in Bell Center Church in Royal Center, Indiana. She preceded him in death on August 16, 2006. Nelson hauled logs out of West Virginia, he worked for Garwood Farms, Monon Trailer and later for Remington Freight Lines. He enjoyed watching Westerns, sitting on the front porch and being with his family and friends. Surviving are three daughters; Barb Doty and Michelle White both of Remington and Jennifer Urbanus (husband: Danny) of West Lafayette, two sons; Brian White (wife: Kim) of Brookston and Patrick White (wife: Julie) of Woodbine, Maryland, one sister; Doris Reynolds of West Virginia and one brother; Chuck White of Ohio. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 also at the funeral home with Pastor Daniel Nave officiating. Interment to follow at Buffalo Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
