Melvin G. Jordan, 59, of Remington, passed away at 1:15 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at his residence. He was born on November 26, 1952 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette to Ralph D. and Lizzie (Braaksma) Jordan. He attended Remington High School. His marriage was to Pam M. Lane on October 27, 1984. He was a lifetime resident of Remington. He was the owner operator of Melvin Jordan & Son Trucking and worked for Mike Jordan Trucking of Wolcott for several years. He also worked for Remington Freight Liner. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with family, and riding horses. He is survived by a son; Wesley Jordan (companion: Amber Luttrell) of Rensselaer, two brothers; Walter A. Jordan (wife: Lou) of Remington and Ronald Jordan (wife: Cathy) of West Lafayette, a sister; Rita J. Jordan of Lafayette, and his companion, Tina D. Letson of Fowler. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. (EST), Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m.(EST), Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington with Rev. Randy Sparks officiating. Interment to follow in Remington Cemetery.
