Joseph Allen "Joe" Brooks, 48, of Lafayette, formerly of Brookston, died, Monday, June 11, 2012 at his residence. He was born April 3, 1964 in Lafayette to Tabor and Betty (Palmore) Brooks. He graduated from Frontier High School in 1982 and attended Ball State University. He became an Eagle Scout when he was 16 and had worked for TruGreen of Lafayette for 18 years. Joe enjoyed watching all types of sports, remodeling and taking care of his home, and working on his flower and vegetable gardens. He also loved his dog, Marley, and spending time with friends and family. Surviving with his parents are his brother, Troy William Brooks (wife: Renee Castle), and his uncle, Bill Brooks of Indianapolis, whom he was very close to. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Eva Palmore and Albert and Virginia Brooks. There will be a Graveside Committal Service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Brookston Cemetery. Pastor Tom Watt to officiate. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m., with memorial service and time of sharing at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in Joe's name.
