Mary Marjorie "Marge" Sheetz, 92, of Remington, died at 1:57 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at Mulberry Health and Retirement of Mulberry. She was born April 15, 1920 near Brookston to the late William Spoelstra Jr. and Sada Edna (Smiley) Spoelstra. She graduated from Round Grove High School in 1938. Her marriage was to Robert D. Sheetz on July 28, 1944 at Badger Grove Church in White County, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2002. She worked at Indiana Associated Telephone Company in Lafayette before her marriage. She was a homemaker. Marge was a member of Remington United Methodist Church and the former Gilboa Homemakers Club. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Surviving is a son; Charles Sheetz (wife: Kathryn) of Bloomington, Illinois; two daughters, Martha Braker of Roanoke, Illinois and Joan Wealing (husband: Jack) of Remington. Also surviving are four granddaughters, Lora Wuethrich of Roanoke, Illinois, Kimberly Bucher (husband: Jim) of Zionsville, Rachel Braman (husband: Greg) of Roanoke, Illinois and Rena Hodel (husband: Jason) of Roanoke, Illinois; two grandsons, Seth Wealing of Boulder, Colorado and Logan Wealing (wife: Sarah Blakeslee) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nine great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Harland Braker and a sister, Kathleen Peneton. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. (EDT) Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Remington United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary van Wijk officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Gilboa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
