Wayne Franklin Crowell, 77, of Chalmers, died at 8:05 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 29, 1934 in Lafayette to the late Harry and Edith Crowell. He earned his GED while serving in the United States Navy. His marriage was to JoAnne Myers on June 1, 1952 in Battle Ground. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2007. He lived in Delphi and Battle Ground most of his life, before moving to Chalmers, and retired from Ross Gear where he worked as a machinist. Wayne loved bowling, and was a member of a bowling league in Lafayette. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, watching professional wrestling, and he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events. Surviving is a daughter, Stephanie Brackett (husband: Tony) of Chalmers, a son, Tony Crowell (wife: Nancy) of Texas, four grandchildren, Neal, Curtis, Nash and Ava, and his beloved dog, Ally. He was preceded in death by a son, Jim Crowell, three brothers and one sister. Private family services are being held with interment to follow at Battle Ground Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
