Jeanne Eva Blunk, 82, of Monon, died at 2:50 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at IU Health Hospital of Lafayette. She was born February 5, 1929 in Monon to the late Thomas and Nora (Swygman) Crawford. She graduated from Monon High School in 1947. Her marriage was to Charles A. Blunk on November 5, 1954 in Monon. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2004. Jeanne retired from North White School Corporation, where she worked as a secretary. She was a member of Monon United Methodist Church, UMW of the church, 48 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 319, and Current Literature. She enjoyed reading, and spending 22 winters in Donna, Texas with her husband. Surviving is a daughter, Charlene Lee (husband: Steve) of Monon and a sister, Margaret Dickmander of Ligonier. Jeanne cherished spending time with her three grandchildren, Jennifer Bower (husband: Garry), Chanda Bell (husband: Jeremy), and MacKenzie Kempfert (husband: Nathanial), and six great-grandchildren, Kayla Marie, Luke Weston, Lauren Ryan and Maison Ava Bower, and Allie Madilyn and Nora Elyse Bell. Also surviving is her special friend, Bob Spear, and her beloved cat, Kady. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Blunk. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2011 at Clapper Family Funeral Home of Monon where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 with Pastor Don Newman officiating. Interment to follow at Osbourne Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Monon United Methodist Church or Monon First Response.
