Donald G. Gerrick, 81, of Milford, IL., passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at his sons home in Bakersfield, CA. He was born August 7th, 1929, in Watseka IL. to the late Walter and Mildred Gerrich . He graduated from AJ Kent High School in Kentland IN. in 1947. Don was in the Navy from 1947-1963, he received a Purple Heart in the Korean War on September 13th, 1950. He was married to Phyllis Gerrick on May 26, 1954, in Frederick, MD. They were able to share 56 years of marriage before Phyllis's death on January 23, 2011. Don lived in Ridgecrest from 1961 until moving to Milford, IL in 2005. Surviving are his two sons, Edwin Gerrick (wife, Julie) of El Cajon, CA; and Gerald Gerrick of Bakersfield, CA. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Stephanie Gerrick Naber (husband, Chad) of Mira Loma; and Stephen Gerrick of El Cajon; and one great-grandson, Carson Naber.
