Brett Sondgerath, 21, of Lafayette, died unexpectedly of natural causes at 10:06 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. He was born January 16, 1989 in Lafayette and is the son of Drew and Beckee Sondgerath. He attended Harrison High School and earned his GED in 2007. Brett and his family attend Dayton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing video games and hanging out with his friends. Surviving with his parents are his brother and sister, Taylon and Braylee Sondgerath; his paternal grandparents, William and Barbara Sondgerath of Lafayette and his maternal grandparents, Jim and Joyce Loft also of Lafayette. Also surviving is his girlfriend, Abby Mobley. Brett had a big smile and infectious personality that made him so fun to be around. He loved his huge family and they loved him. He is a treasure that will be sorely missed. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Dayton United Methodist Church and also from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010 also at the church. Memorials may be made to the Brett Sondgerath Memorial Fund to be used for future good in his name.
