Lucille M. Eckert, 95, of Monon, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare. She was born September 15, 1915 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Charles and Marie (Tyner) Rose. She graduated from Monon High School in 1933. Her marriage was to George Eckert on August 4, 1937 in Monon. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1984. She lived in Monon most of her life, and was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and Monon United Methodist Church, which she enjoyed very much. She was also an avid reader. Surviving is a daughter, Jacqueline Blissett (husband: Steve) of Brookston, two sons, Ronald Eckert (wife: Glenda) of Monticello, and Douglas Eckert (wife: Cheryl) of Bellvue, Ohio. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Lillian Mohler, and three brothers, Lyle, Bernard, and Eugene Rose. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Clapper Family Funeral Home in Monon with Pastor Joe Hornick officiating. Interment will follow at Bedford Cemetery in Monon. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Lucille to Monon United Methodist Church.
