Retha M. Lord - Wetli, 83, of Remington, formerly of Wolcott, died at 10:40 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2010 at Creasy Springs Health Care Campus of Lafayette. She had been in failing health since February of 2010. She was born June 22, 1927 in Wolcott to the late Conrad and Anna (Garring) Baunach. She attended Wolcott Schools. Her marriage was to Edward L. Lord on January 31, 1946 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Remington. He died September 9, 2003. She later married Donald Wetli on November 20, 2004. He survives. She was a homemaker who helped her husband farm in Wolcott from the time of their marriage until retiring and moving to Remington in 1982. Mrs. Lord - Wetli was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved to garden and enjoyed sewing for church relief projects. Mr. & Mrs. Lord also enjoyed wintering in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico for many years. Surviving are five children, Linda Schlatter (husband: Ronald) of Huntertown, Susan Wilson (Chris) of Whitestown, Edward L. Lord (wife: KaAnn) of Walton, Betty Chamberlain of Indianapolis and Rose Stanfield (husband: Robert) of Sugar Land, Texas; and a sister, Martha DeVoss of Farmland, Indiana. Retha loved spending time with her family, especially her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death with her parents and first husband are three brothers, Herbert, Herman and Clarence Baunach. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of Rosary service at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home in Remington. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Remington; Fr. Thomas Fox to officiate. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Remington. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
