Larry J. Linback, 65, of Monon, died unexpectedly at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at his residence. He had been of ill health for the past 6 months. He was born on October 6, 1944 in Monon, to the late Walter A. and Anna F. Thompson Linback. He was a 1963 graduate of Monon High School. His marriage was to Connie L. Hendershot on June 26, 1965 in Meadow Lake Church of Wolcott. She survives. A lifelong White county resident, they lived on the farm where Larry was born until retiring from farming and moving to town in 2003. Mr. Linback was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Francesville. Larry was a farm laborer all of his life, working for Monon Valley Ranch. He was a hard worker and would do anything for his family. He enjoyed following his grandchildren in their sporting events. Surviving with his wife are his children, Michael B. Linback (wife: Tammy) of Monon and Gary L. Linback of Lafayette; brothers, Donald Linback (wife: Norma) of Rockledge, FL and Rex Linback of Monon. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Kassandra, Kameron, Kolton, Kallie, Alexis and Zane. Preceding him in death is a brother, Richard Linback. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2010 at Clapper Family Funeral Home of Monon. Services there Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10 a.m. Church clergy to officiate. Interment to follow at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Larry to Monon First Response/EMT.
