Lawrence "Carey" Wilson, 55, of Monon, died at 6:08 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010, at his residence. Born Sept. 25, 1954, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Lawrence E. and Roberta Chilcott Wilson. He was a 1973 graduate of North White High School. He attended Ivy Tech State College and received technical certificates in welding, hydraulics and management. On June 28, 1975, he married Roxanne J. Gasaway in Reynolds, and she survives. Mr. Wilson worked at Wabash National for 22 years as a millwright, welder and in maintenance. He previously worked for Monon Trailer for 13 years. He was a member of White County ABATE and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, fishing and the outdoors. Surviving with his wife are his children, Kristopher C. Wilson (wife: Brenda) of Noblesville, Brandon L. Wilson (companion: Destiny) of Monon and Destiny J. Wilson (companion: Jim) of West Lafayette; and sisters, Janie Rodgers (husband: Joe) of Lafayette, Amy McWilliams of Virginia, Loretta Wilson of West Lafayette, Joan Kahl (husband: Mike) of Burnettsville, Julie Stonebraker (husband: Troy) of Florida, Annie Crosby (husband: Steve) of Star City and Nancy Wilson of Reynolds. Also surviving are his grandchildren, who he enjoyed spending time with, Marissa, Kaleb, Trevor, Kaydence, Brooklyn, McKenzie, Dylan and Cody. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Clapper Family Funeral Home. Services there at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010.
