Ann W. Popp, 64, of Portage, Indiana, died at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Central. She had been in failing health since August of 2009. She was born April 26, 1945 in Whiting, Indiana to the late George and Betty (Webb) Sutton. She was a graduate of Washington Township High School in 1963 and then later graduated from Purdue North Central School of Nursing. Mrs. Popp was a Registered Nurse at Porter Memorial Hospital retiring in April of 2008. Prior to that she worked for St. Mary's Medical Center and Methodist Hospital both in Gary and started her nursing career at LaPorte Hospital. She was an avid reader and proud Purdue Alumni and enjoyed Purdue PMO shows. She also enjoyed spending time with her sons. Surviving are two sons, James L. Popp and John R. Popp both of West Lafayette. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home (517 Broadway, Chesterton).
