Ben S. Monjon, 35, of Kentland, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Riverside Medical Center of Kankakee, IL due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Ben was born on December 27, 1982 in Watseka, IL to Sharon (Marvin) Monjon and the late John Monjon. He was a 2001 graduate of South Newton High School and graduated from WyoTech’s Marine Technology Program in Daytona, FL in 2009.

He married Heather Griffith on June 6, 2015 in Earl Park; she survives.

Surviving along with his wife and mother are his cherished daughters, Chole (11) and Jaylynn (5). Also surviving is a brother, Jay Monjon.

Preceding him in death along with his father are paternal grandparents, Bernard and Eleanor Monjon, and maternal grandparents, Glen and Doris Marvin.

For the past four years, Ben has worked at the Rogers Group Newton County Stone Company, Kentland. Ben enjoyed boating, riding his motorcycle, fishing, camping, searching Craigslist to find the best deals within 400 miles, spending time in the garage listening to music and working on anything that ran on gasoline (especially his prized 1964 Ford Galaxie). Ben was one of the most dedicated IU fans ever, missing only one basketball game in his adult life.

Friends may call from 4-8 PM (CST) Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the R. Steven Ryan Community Center (405 N. 4^th St. Kentland, IN). Funeral Service 11 AM (CST), Friday, August 31, 2018, also at the R. Steven Ryan Community Center. Interment to immediately follow the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Benjamin Monjon Memorial Fund to be used for the benefit of his daughters.
