Betty Molter, 95, of Kentland, passed away at 9:25 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital of Lafayette.

She was born June 5, 1923 in Goodland to the late Kenneth and Martha (Ellsworth) Stombaugh. Betty was a 1941 graduate of Goodland High School and received her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Indiana State Teachers College.

Her marriage was to Lloyd Molter on July 14, 1947 in St. Peter & Paul Church of Goodland. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2015.

Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland. She taught Elementary Education in the South Newton School System for many years.

In her spare time, Betty enjoyed rummage sales, reading, gardening, and keeping in touch with her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her 7 children, Ann (husband: David) Miner of Lafayette, Kathleen (husband: Randall) Risley of Kentland, Mike (wife: Carla) Molter of Kentland, Stan (wife: Diane) Molter of Sheldon, IL, Sue (husband: Steve) King of Sheldon, IL, Teresa (husband: “Doc”) Hoover of Lafayette, and Pat (wife: Pam) Molter of Earl Park. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband are 2 brothers, John and Bob Stombaugh.

Friends may call from 4-8 PM (CST) Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland. Funeral Mass 11 AM (CST) Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kentland. Fr. Robert Bertonas to officiate. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
