Sandra “Sue” Peters, 72, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Signature Health Care of Lafayette.

She was born April 27, 1948 in Lafayette to the late Frank and Virginia (Redding) Harner. Sue was a 1966 graduate of Brookston High School.

Her marriage was to John Peters on July 1, 1972 in Monticello. John preceded her in death on July 9, 2007.

Sue worked for Kroger and Pay Less for 10 years as a cashier and most recently with Walmart. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and working on crafts.

She is survived by her daughter, Jill Peters (fiancé: Billy Munoz) of Frankfort and a brother, John (wife: Lois) Harner of Bloomington, IN. Also surviving are her three grandchildren: Addison, Alysia, and Dante; sister-in-law, Linda Harner.

Preceding her in death along with her husband and parents are two brothers, Richard and Donnie Harner; a son, Bryan Peters.

Friends may call from 10 AM (EST) until the time of Funeral Service 12 PM (EST) Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Celebrant Shawn Cain to officiate. Interment to follow in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.

In compliance with the Governor’s mandate, “all individuals must wear a face covering that fully covers the person’s nose and mouth,” when they enter any business, including Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Sue’s name to the American Cancer Society.
