Sylvia L. Gregory, 73, of Monon, passed away at 3:50 a.m., Sunday, December 27, 2020 at IU White Memorial Hospital of Monticello.

She was born April 18, 1947 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Paul & Sylvia (Thompson) Swords.

Her marriage was to Thomas Gregory on July 3, 1986 in Lafayette in a backyard ceremony; he survives.

Mrs. Gregory was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. Sylvia worked for several years in the North White cafeteria and also owned & operated her own upholstery shop in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Sylvia enjoyed coloring and watching television, especially Days of Our Lives. Sylvia loved camping and riding around on her golf cart to visit everyone. She also enjoyed betting on Ohio State to beat Purdue with her brother-in-law Mel.

Surviving with her husband is a son, Franklin L. Gregory (wife: Heather) of Apollo Beach, FL; two grandsons, Bryson & Brayden Gregory and a brother, Gene Swords Jr. (wife: Connie).

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Clapper Family Funeral Home of Monon; Pastor Tom Bennett to officiate.
