Laura Beth Meyers-Bertram, 39, of Brookston, passed away at 1:01 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2021 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  She had been in failing health for the last couple years.

Laura was born April 15, 1981 in Geneva, Illinois to Lawrence and Pamela (Monsma) Meyers and was a 1999 graduate of Rensselaer High School.  Laura graduated from Ivy Tech School of Nursing and went on to become a Registered Nurse.

Her marriage of 18 years was to William Bertram on September 7, 2002 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Wheatfield, Indiana; he survives.

Laura was a member of the Federated Church of Brookston where she was on the Christian Education Board, was the former coordinator for the 5th Quarter Ministry where she was a chaperone and was part of the Women’s Bible Study.

Mrs. Meyers-Bertram began her career as a RN at the Riggs Community Health Center in Lafayette.  She later worked for Williamson Eye Institute and for several years at Pediatric Associates of Lafayette for Dr. Padgett.

Laura loved spending time with her children going to movies, bowling and Chuck-E-Cheese.  She was active in all of her kid’s sporting events and helped them peddle their fundraiser wares for the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and their football and softball teams.  A wonderful, loving and supportive mom, she would stay home with her kids when they were sick just to make sure they were well taken care of.  Her children were the light of her life and they adored her.  Laura treasured the family camping trips together.

Surviving with her parents and husband, Bill, are her three children, Skyler, Wyatt and Aubre Bertram; two brothers, Paul Meyers (wife: Cassie) of Plymouth, IN and Stephen Meyers (wife: Jess) of West Lafayette; two sisters, Victoria Miller (husband: Ben) and Theresa Ramey (husband: Cody) both of Monticello and her father-in-law, William F. Bertram Jr. of Fair Oaks, IN.  Also surviving are several aunts and uncles and many nieces and nephews.

Laura is preceded in death by her grandparents: Charles and Geraldine Monsma and Paul and Connie Meyers, and her mother-in-law, Sandra Bertram.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m. (Noon) EST. Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Federated Church of Brookston (202 S. Wood Street); Pastor David Doles to officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Laura Bertram Memorial Fund and will be used for good towards her children.
