Jeffrey Allen Woolridge, 71, of West Lafayette, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Franciscan East in Lafayette.

  He had been a resident of the Indiana Veterans Home since 1999.

  Jeff was born September 28, 1949 in Shelbyville, IN to the late Edward L. & Delores Hunt (Fessler) Woolridge.

  Mr. Woolridge was a Vietnam War veteran serving 5 years in the United States Army.  While in Vietnam, Jeff sustained permanent injuries from blow back from a landmine and was awarded the Purple Heart for his actions.  Like many of his military brothers, home after Vietnam was never the same. 

  Surviving is his sister, Lee Anne Smith of Lafayette; his niece, Faye Reid-Pulley (husband: Tracy) of Burlington, IN and a great-nephew, Aaron T. Reid also of Burlington.

  Graveside funeral rites will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Indiana Veterans Home Cemetery; Chaplain David Hess to officiate.
