Barbara Lee Larimer, 81, of Brookston, passed away at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.

  She was born February 13, 1939 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Ray and Iva (Lucas) Slauter and was a 1957 graduate of Brookston High School.

  Her marriage was to Hobart D. Larimer on April 28, 1962 in Yeoman, Indiana; he preceded her in death on February 11, 1969.

  Mrs. Larimer worked for Ron Schmierer for over 30 years as an accountant/secretary for R&M Wholesale and for Ron’s Auctions.  Prior to working for R&M, Barb worked for the Brookston Telephone Company.

  Barb was a member of Psi Iota Xi of Brookston, the 40&8 Voltaire of Lafayette, the VWF Legion Auxiliary of Delphi and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #492 of West Lafayette.  She and her good friend, Ginger Brown, were long time partners in the Euchre card club in Brookston.

  Barb loved being outdoors and gardening.  She also enjoyed reading, attending town festivals and playing memorable tricks on the grandkids for their birthdays. 

   Surviving are her two children, Vance E. Larimer (wife: Lori) of Battle Ground and Tammy Larimer of Brookston.  Barb loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Bryan Larimer (wife: Renae) of Monticello, Sean Larimer of Battle Ground and Kayla Bunch of Lebanon and a special great-grandson, Ronin.

  Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston.  Interment to follow in the Brookston IOOF Cemetery.

  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Barbara Lee Larimer Memorial Fund to used for a later good in her name.
