Patricia McCarty, 91, of Kentland, passed away peacefully at home on the farm on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

She was born August 9, 1929 in Watseka, IL to the late Charles and Cecilia (O’Donnell) Molter.

Patricia was a 1946 graduate of Goodland High School and attended St. Joseph Elementary in Kentland grades 1 through 6. Her marriage of 70 years was to Delbert McCarty on January 27, 1951 and he survives.

Patricia was a lifelong resident of the Kentland community and was a member of the St. Joseph Rosary Society and Women’s Circle. She was Director of Food Service at South Newton School Corporation until her retirement after 31 years. Before her marriage to Delbert, she also worked as bookkeeper for Dye Lumber Company of Kentland.

In her spare time, Patricia enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and loved time with her family.

Surviving along with her husband, are daughters, Linda (Glenn) Berg of Cissna Park, IL, Susan McCarty of Kentland, and Sandra (Robert) Bevill of Madison, AL. Grandchildren, Mike Blanding, Mark Blanding, Jennifer Pearson, Kathryn Mada, Patrick Bevill, Brian Bevill, and Nye Berg. Great-grandchildren, Kylie, Michaela, Evan, Tyler, Trenton, Rhyan, McKenna, Charlotte, Grant, Logan, Luke, and Charlie. Great-Great Grandchildren Haedyn, Ellen,  Palmer and Brooks.

Preceding her in death along with her parents are siblings, Lorene Molter, Charline Sammons, and Charles Molter. She is also preceded in death by a grandson, Carl Berg.

A private Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 with Fr. Robert Bernotas officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Patricia’s name to the Newton-Jasper Foundation to be used for South Newton Schools Scholarships (301 N. Van Rensselaer Street, Rensselaer, IN 47978).
