Caroline M. Wright, 93, of West Lafayette, passed away at 6:20 a.m., Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis.  She had been living at Bickford of Carmel.

  Caroline was born February 5, 1928 in Tippecanoe County to the late Charles W. and Julia (Phillips) Haderle and was a 1947 graduate of Klondike High School.

  Her marriage of 68 years was to Herman Gordon Wright on June 26, 1948 at Badger Grove Community Baptist Church.

  Mrs. Wright was a long time member of the Badger Grove Church and was a member of the Klondike Alumni Association and Klondike Athletic Boosters.  She also enjoyed her time with the Purdue University 4-H Extension, helping with the Tippecanoe County 4-H and attending the Indiana State Fair.  She and her family hosted International Foreign Students from Purdue for many years and always appreciated the friendships with the students. 

  An accomplished quilter, Caroline loved making quilts for family.  She also enjoyed entertaining family and friends at home as well as coordinating neighborhood parties.  Caroline also enjoyed collecting antique furniture and crocks.  Caroline wrapped Christmas gifts at Loebs Department Store in Lafayette for several years and always appreciated a good Arni’s Junior salad.

  Surviving are her four sons, Gary Wright (wife: Kathy) of Hamilton, Ohio, Steven Wright (wife: Nancy) of West Lafayette, Donald Wright (wife: Nietta) of Mishawaka, IN and Jon Wright (wife: Cindy) of Door County, Wisconsin.  Caroline loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Aaron Wright (fiance: Ashley Kost), Brian Wright, Brady Wright (wife: Cassy), Lauren Wright (companion: Taylor Gordon), Gianfranco Wright (Wife: Angela), and Gianna Pociask (husband: Jason) and her great-grandsons, Luca, Enzo, Nico, Dominic and Henry.

  Preceding her in death with her parents and husband is a brother, Robert Haderle and two sisters, Joan Luther and Nancy Vonic.

  Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m. (noon) Friday, April 23, 2021 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston; Pastor Roger Strunk to officiate.  A procession down Morehouse Road with interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Lafayette.

  The family kindly requests friends and well wishers to follow all COVID protocols including the wearing of masks.
