Cynthia Sue (Goranovich) Abdo, 62, of Kentland, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at her home. She was born August 9, 1959 in Gary, IN to the late Michael and Betty (Hoskins) Goranovich. Cynthia was a graduate of Merrillville High School. Her marriage was to David Abdo in February of 1989 and he survives.

Cynthia had lived in the Merrillville and Morocco area for several years and had resided in Kentland for the last 5 years. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting and crafts, and traveling when she was able.

She is survived by her three children, Charlene (Anthony) Stewart of Remington, Jonathon (Jacquelyn) Stewart of DeMotte, and Nicci Abdo of Steator, IL. Two sisters, Nancy (Larry) Achten of Valparaiso and Roseann (Ron) Keiser of Hobart. 8 grandchildren, Rylee, Kassidy, Shelby, Morgan, Kailee, Paiten, Brayden, and Bailey.

Preceding her in death along with her parents are 3 siblings, Linda Timmons, Michael and James Goranovich.

Friends may call from 10 AM (CST) until the time of Memorial Service 12 PM (CST) Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland.

Memorial contributions may be made in Cynthia’s name to the American Diabetes Association or Riley Hospital for Children.
