Mellissa K. Shank, 45, of Wolcott, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Franciscan Health of Lafayette. She was born February 3, 1976 in Rensselaer, IN to Steven E. O’Neil and Vicki M. (Lyons) Donahue. Mellissa was a 1994 graduate of South Newton High School.

Her marriage was to Todd E. Hathaway on March 16, 1996; he preceded her in death in 2017. Mellissa later married Scott A. Shank on May 19, 2019 and he survives.

Mellissa had worked as an LPN for several years in the past. Her recent occupation was in food services at Tri-County Jr. Sr. High School.

Mellissa enjoyed crafting projects, camping trips, loved all animals, and family vacations to Florida.

Surviving along with her husband, Scott, are her parents, Vicki (Matt) Donahue of Rensselaer and Steve (Kathleen) O’Neil of Fowler. Children, Miranda Hathaway of Remington, Logan Hathaway of Remington, Kolby Hathaway also of Remington. Two brothers, Scott (Angela) O’Neil of Fowler and Brad O’Neil of Rensselaer. Also surviving are step-sons, Daniel and William; step-grandparents, Karen and Mark Shank of Florida. One grandson, Branson Shinall, and step-grandchildren, D.J., Saphire, Cama, and Aubrey.

Friends may call from 5-8 PM (EST) Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington. Funeral Service 11:00 AM (EST) Thursday, November 11, 2021 at First Christian Church of Remington. Pastor Paul Dyke to officiate. Interment to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery of Goodland.
