John Christopher Willis, 62, of Lafayette, passed away on December 28, 2021 at St. Mary Healthcare Center. He was born July 10, 1959 in Oshkosh, WI to the late John M. and Barbara (Rooker) Willis. Chris served in the United States Army.

Chris worked as a car salesman primarily in the finance department for 20 years until his dementia diagnosis forced his retirement. He enjoyed watching old westerns, following Purdue sports and was a Chicago Bears fan.

Chris is survived by his children, Brittany Biddle of Lafayette, Ryan Traeger of Lafayette, Nicholas Traeger of Indianapolis, and Aubree (husband: Jordan) Buck of Lafayette. Grandchildren, Magnolia and Genevieve Traeger, Warren and Hudson Buck. Also surviving are siblings, Michael (wife: Stephanie) Willis of West Lafayette, Judy (husband: Gene) Ivanov of Westfield, IN, Mark (Wife: Martha) Willis of Lafayette, Scot (wife: Lynette) Willis of Lafayette, Bruce (wife: Angie) Willis of Racine, WI, Kathrine J. Willis of Lafayette, and special family friend, Cam McKinney. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents, John and Barbara Willis.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral mass at 11 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church (1916 Meharry St. Lafayette, IN). Private family only interment to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Lafayette.

The family would like to thank St. Mary Healthcare Center, and especially the loving staff in the legacy care unit for their care and dedication to Chris over the last three years.
