Biographical Information:
Joan had lived in Monticello, Indiana, area for approximately the last twenty-three (23) years, coming from Hegewisch, Illinois. She was a member of the Marmon Club (Antique Car Club). She loved and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening. Joan graduated from Clark High School in Hammond, Indiana. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joan was also very devoted wife to her late husband, Lou.

Marriage Information: On November 26, 1954, she married Louis "Lou" Wontor. He died August 22, 2003.

Daughters, Rebecca (husband Thomas) Schroeder of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Beth (husband Noel) Steen of Rapid City, South Dakota; Grandchildren, Larry (fiancee Monica Jones) Wontor, Jr. of Lafayette, Indiana, Genevieve (husband Matt) Gorbaty of Quantico, Virginia, Christopher (wife Susanna) Schroeder of Valparaiso, Indiana, Cynthia (husband Ryan) Nicoletto of Nashville, Tennessee, and Kimberly (husband Michael) Westfall of Chicago, Illinois; Great Grandchildren, Lexi Gorbaty, William Schroeder, and Elias Schroeder.
