Vernon LeRoy "Vern" Allen, 86, of Monticello, Indiana, passed away at 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2022, at the Monticello Healthcare Center of Monticello, Indiana. 

He was born on Friday, January 24, 1936, in LaPorte, Indiana, to the late Charles B. and Wilhelmina Christine Allen.  

 

He was married to Sandy Franks in Monticello, Indiana; she is deceased.

Vern had lived in the Monticello, Indiana, area most all of his life. 

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2022, here at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.

 

No formal funeral service will be conducted, just a Gathering of Family and Friends only from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2022. 

 

Memorials may be given to Courage Rock.  Envelopes will be available here at the funeral home or can be mailed to the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home, 6368 E. US 24, Monticello, Indiana, 47960.  

 

Burial will be Private for the Family.

Biographical Information:
   Vern had lived in the Monticello, Indiana, area most all of his life.  He was a member of the Union Teamsters Local #543 .  Vern had worked for Brim Concrete of Monticello, Indiana, for over thirty years.  He was a set up and semi-truck driver for the former Kenny Implement of Monticello, Indiana, for six years.  Vern mowed at Indiana Beach of Monticello, Indiana, for four years.  He enjoyed camping when he was able and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Four (4) Grandchildren,

Jake Lee Allen of Reynolds, Indiana,

Joey Allen of Brookston, Indiana,

Josh (wife Ashley) Allen of Reynolds, Indiana, and

Jordan Allen of Lafayette, Indiana;

 

Six (6) Great Grandchildren.
