Daniel “Dan” Gene Yerk, 56, of Chalmers, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. He was born November 14, 1966 in Lafayette to Marlene L. (Conrad) Yerk and the late Gene R. Yerk. Dan attended Frontier High School.

His marriage of 33 years was to Elizabeth Million on May 3, 1989 in Brookston and she survives.

Dan was a member of Teamsters Local 135 of Lafayette. He was a professional truck driver several years for JJ Williams Trucking and most recently Milestone Construction. Dan loved fishing, riding his Harley-Davidson, and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by friends, family, and his beloved dog, Sadie.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Yerk of Chalmers; mother, Marlene L. Yerk of Monticello; children, Nathaniel (Sammi) Million of Plattsmouth, NE, Natasha (Clayton) Davies of Brookston, Jacob Yerk of Chalmers, and Allyson Yerk also of Chalmers. Grandchildren, Emily and Isabella Davies, Colton, Nova, and Hudson Million. Siblings, David (Roberta) Yerk of Reynolds and Roger (Debra) Yerk of Kewanna, IN.

Preceding him in death along with his father are two grandsons, Jackson Davies and Tyler Million.

Friends may call from 2 PM (EDT) until the time of Funeral Service 4 PM (EDT) Monday, April 17, 2023 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Senior Minister Michael Duff of Crossroads Christian Church to officiate.
